Reviews Policy

At CafeRoamer, reviews exist to create a fair, useful, and objective dataset for the community. Our goal is to highlight the quality of cafés in terms of work-friendly features and offerings—without bias, pay-for-play, or unhelpful noise. Merchants and users are both part of this process to keep things balanced.

How Reviews Work

• Pending Period: When a review is submitted, it enters a pending state for 2 days. During this time, the merchant is notified and may choose to reply or flag the review.
• Merchant Flagging: Merchants can flag reviews that seem non-objective or overly subjective. Examples include one-off experiences, personal preferences, or comments not tied to measurable stats (e.g., seating quality, Wi-Fi speed and reliability, noise level, or menu pricing). Some personal experience is left into the process including noise level, comfort etc.
• Admin Review: If flagged, the CafeRoamer team reviews the content. Reviews confirmed as outside the scope of our objective criteria will become non-visible and will not count toward the café's overall rating.
• Visible & Accountable: All reviews that pass remain visible and contribute to the café's review average. Merchants can always reply to provide their perspective.

What We Don't Allow

• No fake reviews—including self-reviews, paid reviews, or content from people without firsthand experience.
• No removal of valid criticism. Reviews that fairly describe objective stats remain, even if negative.
• No personal attacks, harassment, or irrelevant commentary.

Our Vision for Reviews

We believe reviews should help both roamers and merchants. That's why we aim to:

• Simplify the process: Users will get helpful prompts to make leaving a review easy and focused on useful details.
• Encourage solutions: When a review highlights a problem, we nudge the reviewer to suggest ways the café could address it—so feedback is constructive, not just critical.
• Build a fair dataset: By focusing on objective stats, the community gets reliable insights into each café's environment.

This policy may evolve as our community grows. Any significant changes will be announced to all users.
